MMC13: Yes, I Make Assumptions

I was quite recently reminded of the adage "Never assume. It makes an ass out of you and me." I have found that it doesn't stop anyone from making them, though ... including me.

Here are a few assumptions that I find myself making about others:

• If you wear a hat indoors, I will assume that you are bald.
• If you have a lot ( and I mean a whole lot) of tattoos, randomly placed over your body, I will assume that we won't have much in common.
• If you debate my dating preferences with me, I will assume that you are shallow and self-centered.

I am open to having those assumptions dispelled.

Knowing what others assume about me is purely speculative. I can't recall an instance of anyone saying to me, "Oh. I just assumed."

Here are a few assumptions I suspect others make about me:

• I think people assume that I am very gender traditional, bordering on Trad-Wife
• I think people assume that if I don't use a technology, I must not know how.
• I think people assume that my politeness is the same as friendliness.

I'm happy to dispell those assumptions, too. 😎
