A high wind warning, for my area, was posted last night.
So, when I got up today, I knew where I was headed.
Yep ... the beach.
I love going to Lake Michigan when the weather is wild.
It exhilarates me, walking along the pier and watching the waves crash against the light house.
But today was almost more than I could handle.
It was 38 degrees F ... with 38 mph winds.
I could barely get my car door open.
I couldn't walk along the pier because it was inundated by waves.
Taking pictures was tough because the wind was trying to blow me over.
I had to delete a bunch of blurry shots.
I had to take a glove off to work the phone camera.
My fingers are still cold. (I didn't think to take my blue tooth remote along)
But I don't regret going.
And I have a confession.
If I could've had the beach to myself ... I would've taken a HNW picture.
Cuz I'm wild that way!

I love watching waves crashing on the rocks. I get your excitement and taking pics.
There aren't many rocks on this side of Lk Michigan so I'm happy to watch then crash on the pier. I'd love to see Lk Superior on a really windy day (but not in the winter)
Looks like it may have been a notable beach building event. That's the kind of enhancement we all can enjoy together.
I can usually follow your train of thought when you comment but this one has me stumped.
@superbjversion2 There is natural process that typically moves sand from the west side of Lake Michigan to the east side. The resultant sand dunes are enjoyed by many.
@SoGood2Know Heck ... it was so windy, I'm fairly certain the sand was moving from the west side of Lake Michigan to the west side of Lake Huron!
Which beach is that? Don't think it's Oval?
That is my go-to spot ... Grand Haven State Park.

Most people stayed in their cars. Only a few craz ... um, intrepid people, like me, were outside.
It's windy here too. The winds are easterly so it's got a bit colder.

It's the NW winds that freeze us here.
I get the same vibe when I trek to nearby Lac Saint-Louis.
Last week I felt saintly and walked on water to visit the ice-huts on the other side. It's wild and otherworldly. The wind had blown the snow off in some spots and left a crystal-clear view into the depths: the ice is about three feet thick. Fish are attracted to the sunlight, and I saw several dark shadows swim by. They were the only companions on my journey.
One has to dress like an Inuit, but it's worth it.😎

with the photos alone I can feel the cold. I can handle hot Phoenix weather, but the cold, damp, windy weather, I have trouble with.
Most folks stayed in their cars but I wasn't the only crazy Michigander out there.

Fortunately, I had all the right gear. The only thing that was cold, was my gloveless hand. I really need to remember my camera remote on days like that!
