Something New, and Something Somewhat New, on HNW
I’ve been quite busy of late and frankly was just planning on using an image from the archives for this weeks contribution. But then I saw @jn63jpn’s and @sleek7124’s lovely posts (HNW--the 770th . . . Something New and HNW - Something New, respectively). Eventually, I also got around to noticing the theme they were depicting too, and realized that I couldn’t just recycle for this theme! Fortunately I came up with an idea rather quickly.
About 25 years ago I went to the local camera shop in search of a tripod. They had a decent used one at a reasonable price so I bought it. The first time I took it on a trip an aged plastic part broke off. I was able to come up with a reasonable fix for the issue and continued to use the tripod on other trips, and ESPECIALLY when taking naughty photos. On my trip in late April of last year ANOTHER part broke off. I decided I’d gotten my money’s worth out of the tripod and it was time to replace it. The local camera shop was defunct so just before Christmas I went on-line, read some reviews, and ended up ordering the one shown here. Last year my son gave me a lightweight tripod/remote trigger for my cell phone. I keep it in my car for those unexpected photo ops but pressed it into service this week. It always pays to be equipped to take a shot when the opportunity arises, regardless of whether that is a pretty picture, a naughty one, or BOTH.

Very nice tripod!
I have a small tripod in my car, camera or cell phone adaptable. It has legs that will actually wrap around a tree branch. It came with a blue tooth remote ... which I often forget to stick in my pocket.
If you look closely at the remote in the second picture you can see a ring. When in storage in the trunk of my car, this ring is fixed around a leg of the tripod, thus keeping everything together.
@CleavageFan4U Too cold up here to keep a remote in the car. Maybe I can hang it on my key chain
@superbjversion2 Ah, good point. But yeah that sounds like a reasonable option.

I used to always use a little tripod and digital camera back in the day. Now it's just propping my phone up against something lol
The remote trigger is very handy.
@CleavageFan4U I didn't have one of those but a 10 second timer usually worked
@anmlmn It does. But when taking especially naughty pictures only allowing 10 seconds to get positioned is sometimes an issue.

Big equals stable. It even has a way to hang a sandbag from it for additional stability.
