I've had "luv you" but I knew it was more along the line of friendship rather than romantic. That's how I felt, too.
Good point - there is luv you, and I love you, different things!
I've never said it too soon, but I have sent a few GIF's in text messages that I couldn't see clearly. You know, you see a big HEART, but then in tiny print, it says, "I LOVE YOU". D'oh!!!
That's an interesting case. Guess it depends on the receiver for how to interpret it.
I assume its a habit when I hear it. I don't recall making that mistake. The habit though probably played out and I missed it, LOL.
My stressed brain just went with habit I guess.
For as I know , I never used that L word accidently in any situation.
Lucky you!
The only time it's too soon is if it isn't reciprocated so ... once. And it just kinda slipped out. Definitely a D'oh moment for me. I don't recall the specific reaction but it wasn't, "I love you, too."
Yeah, there is really only one correct response, IF it was a genuine statement and not a slip.
I've not said 'I love you' too soon though I have said it too late!
That might be WORSE. 🤔
We were just discussing this kind of mistake in an online group of women professionals this week.... many busy moms have made this mistake signing off calls or voicemails.... one said it finally happened with a man doing it on a Voicemail to her and then followed with..."oh er crap... didn't mean to say that.".. 😆
Not sure that is the kind of mistake you apologize for via voicemail. 😀
